Position
The money picture, in four figures:
- Contracted, from Clients.
- Cash collected, from settled instalments in Clients.
- Money out, from Procurement.
- Collected less spent.
Underneath them, the figures they are built from: what is still receivable, what is overdue and across how many accounts, what is approved or ordered, the annual salary cost from Pay, and the open pipeline from Leads.
Receivables
What is owed, aged into buckets, with the amount and the number of accounts in each. A receivables list that shows one total tells you the size of the problem; ageing tells you how old it is, which is the part that decides what to do about it.
Budgets
What was budgeted against what has been committed, per project. Budgets come from Projects, spend comes from Procurement, and this tab is where the two meet.
Where each number comes from
- Contracted revenue and cash collected: Clients and accounts.
- Receivables and overdue: Clients and accounts.
- Committed and paid spend: Procurement.
- Budgets: Projects.
- Salary cost: People and Pay.
- Open pipeline: Leads and pipeline.
If a figure looks wrong, the record behind it is where to look. Finance cannot be corrected here because it holds nothing of its own.
Common questions
Why does Finance disagree with my accounting software? It should not disagree about what Rople knows. Rople reports contracted revenue, recorded receipts and approved spend. Anything that happened outside Rople is not in these numbers.
Can I add an adjustment? No. Adjustments belong in the module that owns the record, which is usually Clients or Procurement.
Why is Insights showing a different figure? It is not. Insights and Finance are computed in the same pass, so the two screens cannot disagree. If a number differs it is answering a different question, and each one names what it is counting.
